first day.

I spent an almost sleepless night packing my things, trying not to forget anything. It’s awkward to leave somewhere for six months.. my backpack looked gigantic, it’s apparently only 23.5 kg. of course not including my hand luggage (backpack #2 and two camera bags..)

I got to Trondheim airport at 5PM and realised I had only eaten half a roll and drank coffee the whole day. tough luck. After a comfortable bus ride, I got to walk for what seemed like hours (turned out it was only half an hour or so) before I got to the Interrail center. Awesome place to stay, with terribly friendly young norwegians to manage it. I stuck to my luggage like a baby to her mother (you never know what can happen… and frankly getting my stuff stolen on my first day in norway is definitely not part of my plan) and sat down to eat (Caesar Salad! I can only recommend it) with two guys from Germany. One of them was reading High Fidelity (<3) so we talked about that, and then about movies, and music, and norway, and studies, and and and... turns out they are of course great people, real nice. We made a run to the Seven-Eleven across the street (yes, Norway IS an americanised country) to buy candy, milk, water and chocolate. Timo sat down in the hall to eat muesli while Tony and I just played around with our awesome Canon cameras. We played cards with an awkward french kid (I named him Engueran, or however you spell that I don't know... named after some posh kid I met in Ireland ten years ago) then we pretty much just hung out before going to our respective dorms.
After breakfast this morning I met some guy who apparently is doing the same language course as me here… so we went to the Moholt Studentby together to get our keys, do paperwork, and so on.

Tony is in love

..Timo too!

I drew a bunny there... what a surprise!

Trondheim, midnight: the sky was actually wayyy lighter than that..

prison beds!

Trondheim is small and rainy. I’m supposed to get a bus to Elverum sometime today. It’s going to be an experience, considering the next bus leaves at 11pm.. grr. six hours on a bus. SCORE!
